Emergency Drain Service in El Mirage

If sewage or dirty water is coming up through a drain, call (855) 733-0367 now. Mike The Plumber Wichita provides emergency drain service in El Mirage, 24/7, for backups that can't wait until Monday. While you wait for us, the steps below will help limit damage and keep your family safe.

Do This Right Now

• Stop using water. Don't run sinks, showers, the dishwasher or the washing machine, and don't flush. Every drop you add has nowhere to go but the backup.
• Keep people and pets away. Backed-up wastewater can carry bacteria and other contaminants. Keep children and animals out of the affected area, and avoid touching the water with bare skin.
• Be careful with electricity. If water is near outlets, appliances or a panel, stay out of the area. Turn off power to that area only if you can reach the breaker without stepping through water.
• Don't pour chemical drain cleaners. They rarely clear a main line backup, and they make the water dangerous for the plumber and for you.
• Take photos and videos. Document the water and any damaged items for your insurance claim before anything is moved.
• Call us. Tell us which drains are affected and whether water is still rising.

What Counts as a Drain Emergency?

• Sewage coming up through a floor drain, tub or shower
• Toilets that bubble, won't flush or overflow when you run other fixtures
• Multiple drains backing up at the same time
• Water pouring out of a cleanout, floor drain or basement drain
• A strong sewage smell with slow draining throughout the house
• A business drain that has shut down a kitchen or restroom

What We Do When We Arrive

• Find the blockage: We locate where the line is blocked, whether it's in a fixture, a branch line or the main sewer line.
• Clear the line: We use professional equipment to clear the stoppage and restore flow, including HydroScrub Drain Jetting when grease, roots or heavy buildup are involved.
• Inspect with a camera: If the backup was serious, we look inside the line to find the cause, such as roots, a broken pipe, a belly or a collapsed section.
• Explain your options: You get a plain explanation of what happened and what it will take to keep it from happening again.

After the Backup: Cleanup and Damage

Clearing the line stops the backup, but any water that reached floors or walls still needs attention. Wet materials left in place can lead to mold and odors, so move quickly. If water has pooled in a basement or crawl space, we offer Flooded Basement Pumping Services. For lingering smells after the line is clear, see Sewer Odor Removal. For heavily contaminated materials, a professional restoration company is usually the right next step.

Homes, Businesses and Rentals

Homeowners and tenants call us for backups in tubs, showers, floor drains and toilets. Restaurants, offices and apartment buildings call when a kitchen, restroom or shared line shuts down. For business properties, see Commercial Plumbing Repairs. If your home uses a septic system instead of a city sewer, the cause and the fix can be different, so tell us when you call and see Septic Tank Pumping.

How Much Does Emergency Drain Service Cost?

Clearing an emergency backup generally costs about $200 to $700 for most homes, depending on where the blockage is and how hard it is to remove. After-hours, weekend and holiday calls often cost more, and a camera inspection or repairs are quoted separately. We give you the price before work begins. FAQs

It can be. Backed-up wastewater can contain harmful bacteria, so avoid direct contact, keep children and pets away, and wash up carefully if you touch it.

Often not by default. Many policies cover sewer or drain backup only with an added endorsement or rider, so check your policy. Photos, receipts and a written record from the plumber can help with a claim.

Sudden backups are usually caused by a main line clog from grease, flushed wipes or tree roots, or by a damaged or collapsed pipe. A camera inspection shows which one it is.
